Ever heard of making your own laundry detergent. This recipe I found online and I have used it before. I actually find the smell very attractive so it still has a scent to it and it works great on clothes.
Ingredients you'll need:
-1/3 Fels Naptha soap- This soap was pretty hard to find. You will have to look around to find this kind of soap because its not sold at all stores.
-1/2 cup Arm and Hammer Washing soda- This is NOT baking soda this is stuff you use to wash clothes with. You would be able to find this in the detergent aisle.
-1/2 cup Borax- This also should be found in the detergent aisle.
-2 gallon size bucket
*Can add 10-15 drops of essential oils if you want a different smells
The hardest thing of the recipe is finding the Fels Naptha soap so you will definately have to look around for that. Ok so now its making the soap part.
Directions:
First you will get the Fels Naptha soap and take a saucepan and heat the soap up in the saucepan. This soap smells really good so it will make your whole house smell amazing! Add 6 cups of water and heat it until soap melts. Add the washing soda and the Borax and stir until it is dissolved. Remove from the heat. Pour 4 cups of hot water into bucket. Now add your soap mixture. Next add 1 gallon of water plus 6 cups of water and stir. Leave for 24 hours until it gels together.
*Use 1/2 cup per load

Green Tip of the Day
Turn the water off when you brush your teeth. It wastes less water if you turn the water off when your brushing your teeth. It will also save you money on your water bill since your not running the water.

Green Tip of the Day
One way on becoming greener and making an effort to stop global warming is to turn the lights off. In turning the lights off you are conserving energy. If you do keep the lights on maybe switch to a CFL bulb so you wont be wasting as much energy in keeping that light on. I have many CFL bulbs in my house. These save a lot of money on the electricity bills.
